Titanate, Zirconate & Aluminate Coupling Agents & Catalysts for Rubber

Kenrich Petrochemicals, Inc.’s (“Kenrich”) Ken-React® series of titanate, zirconate and aluminate organometallics provide advancement-in-the-state-of-the-art opportunities for rubber processing and products. Compounders can add Ken-React® CAPOW® L® 38/H titanate powder masterbatch to their Banbury hopper and drop the Mooney Viscosity of mineral or carbon black filled elastomer compound while increasing elongation and tensile strength using less plasticizer. A typical application would be the use of titanate to increase the coefficient of restitution of a golf ball composed of butadiene rubber, magnesium carbonate filler, zinc acrylate co-monomer and dicumyl peroxide.

The ability of Kenrich’s organometallics to couple with all material surfaces via in situ proton coordination to bond dissimilar materials offers you greater opportunities for manufacturing new and novel plastic compositions. For example, non-silane reactive CaCO3 and carbon black filled, sulfur cured SBR compound can have the aromatic oil content reduced from 15 phr to 0 phr without sacrificing elongation. If you are trying to adhere an ETFE Fluoropolymer to E-Glass, stainless steel or aluminum, a small amount of titanate or zirconate will enhance adhesion significantly. Often superior to silanes, since surface hydroxyls are necessary for silane condensation coupling and surface hydroxyls are not needed with Ken-React® organometallics.

Kenrich offers its customers a wide range of organometallics based on their “Six Functions” for coupling, catalysis, nano-phosphatization with attentive customer and technical service backed by decades of practical experience inventing and making our own plasticizers, rubber chemical dispersions, silicone paste dispersions, and specialty chemicals to provide you the solutions you need to bring your rubber applications technology to the next level. If you work with elastomeric materials, fillers, and sulfur and peroxide curatives – there is a Kenrich Ken-React® that will make your formulation work better – while using and processing your raw materials more efficiently.
